Searching For The Right Colors

A few new sample colors of the PW Shad for my Pike Wallis friends.
They are trying to find the right blend of colors to become their stock colors.
We have a few more sample colors on the way very soon
and
maybe a new size/style or two also.

Trailer Final Assembly

I have gotten to the final stages of the trailer rebuild.
It's been a long time and a lot of work to get to this point of the installing the last few pieces.
Here's a few pics after the last piece was put back on the trailer
...the last piece being the boat.

After the boat comes one of the fun steps
....putting all the gear back in...

With all the necessary gear in place
......now it just needs some in the water time
....... and some fish slime added.
With spring very close, I hope,
it won't be long until I check those last couple things off the list.

All in all it's been a fun project.
It has been many years since I've taken on a project like this.
Nice to know I still have the knowledge and the ability to do these kind of things.
As with most projects, it took a lot longer, and cost more than I originally estimated..or wanted.
But after it's done it was all worth the effort.

A Few Baits From Last Week.

Above is before and below is after
of some European hand poured shad bodies.
These were in the 12" size range, very soft plastic with a big heavy tail....
...should have lots of thump.

A Few Bondy's for friends

Early Stages Of Assembly

The above pics are from the morning after the painting

Pin striping applied, lights and reflectors installed and test fitting the side bunks.

Axle/spring assembly installed and now starting on bearing and hubs.

Pike Wallis Shad, More Colors

A few colors of the Pike Wallis Shad bodies that shared time with the trailer the last few days.

Trailer Update

I've not had as much time to work on my old boat trailer as I'd like
but I have managed to at least get it in primer.
It won't be long, weather permitting, until I can start adding some color to it.
Here's a few pics after I finished priming the bottom side.

Crazy Weather Week

Just when I thought we were getting close to spring.....
With a milder rain melting most of the remaining snow we had, I was hoping the weather would finally turn around with some milder temps and become more like spring.
But mother nature had other plans.....
After a day of steady rain the temps dropped and the rain changed to sleet....then to snow.
I awoke the following morning to no electric and 14" of fresh snow..
.....not what I had hoped for, at all...
We were lucky and our electric came back on after about 5 hours,  but many were not so lucky....especially since the temps dropped to 0 or below, the following night.
With the steady rain melting the several inches of old snow, this caused the rivers and streams to rise.
..a lot and very quickly.
I watched the reports and saw the river was rising at a rate of about 1 foot per hour and continued rising like that for many hours.
In 3 days the river levels have risen 30 feet causing many areas to deal with flooding conditions in addition to the cold temps and the latest snowfall.

....On a positive note:....
The Forecast for the next week is calling for some  60 degree temps

A few photos I took looking out my doors that morning.  I was not happy going from no snow to this overnight.

Even with the crazy weather I did manage to get a few baits made.
Here's some pics of some of the things that came from the shop this week.
