Big Pike

Here's a couple photos of my friend Mikko Jussila with two really nice pike he caught in his home country of Finland.
He reported catching four big pike that day.
pike # 1 - 11.42 kg  (25+ lbs.)
pike # 2 - 10kg (22+ lbs)
pike # 3 - 11.85 kg (26+ lbs)
pike # 4 - 9 kg (19+ lbs)
After going fishless for quite some time that day with all his other lures he decided to test one of my 12" curl tail shad bodies that had been give to him from another friend.
Within minutes of putting in the water he had the first of his 4 monster pike.

Congratulations on catching those great fish Mikko
Thanks for sharing the photos.

A Few Odds & Ends

I had a couple other big projects going on this past week so I did not have a lot of time to spend in the shop.
However I did manage to paint up a few things that folks wanted.
Customer Requested - Glitter Perch

In addition to the above painting, I have another project I have been working on for the last couple months.
A friend of  mine who specializes in powder coating blades has come up a process of image transfer, This process allows them to put almost any image on a spinner blade in powder coat, .
Here's a couple different colors that I had them do for me with the University of Kentucky logo. These have been finished for some time but due to the universities approval and licensing process it has been a waiting game.
These blades are twin 8's,
The skirts are 8" and are a hand tied, custom blended tinsel skirt
They feature tandem black nickle treble hooks, and are built on a keel weighted .051" stainless wire.
One of them has a printed blue blade and one nickel blade with a blue and silver skirt
The other has one printed orange blade and one black nickel blade with a black and orange skirt.
While these are fully functional and would catch  fish I fully expect these will become wall art.

Phantom Hard Head Experiments

A couple photos of two of my personal Phantom Hard Heads.
These baits are becoming more and more popular with the musky guys in my area.  In an effort to make mine a little different than everybody elses  I custom painted tails to match the heads.

The Hot Whitefish in this photo shows the factory orange tail (top right ).
On the left is the two tails I painted for it, one was painted tail up and the other tail down.
Sorta looks like a orange bellied shad now.

This photo is of the color Hot Perch, it too came with an orange tail but I removed it.
I used a chartreuse tail as a base and here's what it looks like after I painted the orange back, brown bars and gold scales.

While I'm not sure it will make any difference to the fish it does a lot to increase my confidence in them by knowing that the fish have never seen these before.
As a fellow much smarter than me once said
"Confidence is the most effective lure in any angler's box"

Another Round Of Bondy's

The first batch of Bondy Baits I sent to Musky Tackle Online sold out within a couple days so I painted up the remaining blanks that I had on hand and sent them on their way. This new batch should be listed on his website around the first of next week.
If your interested in any of these colors I'd recommend acting soon because these won't last long.
We have plans for a few more colors in the next batch
Here's a link to MTO's website

Also, I will be listing several original Bondy's for sale on here....these have been painted in one-off colors and also some done as paint or pattern experiments.
These are colors and patterns that did not make the MTO website.
If your looking for something different, something that is a one of a kind color then check back here often.
I will try to get these posted on here within the next few days.

Also, as with all my baits, if there is a color or a pattern that you want put on a Bondy...whether it is like another bait...or maybe an old favorite.....or maybe something you'd just like to design yourself,
we can do that
so just give me a shout.

Thanks

Here's a couple pics of this most recent batch that was sent to MTO.

Nice Pike

A photo of my friend Christian Krintel with a very nice pike he took on a 15" pike colored shad.
He reported catching several pike on that big shad but this was the largest of the day.
On this day, even the small fish refused the smaller lures but would attack these big shad.
Thanks for sharing the photo Christian.
