One Last Post ....For This Year !!

A few shots of some Medussa's that is the last thing I'm painting ......for this year.
The first pic is of a few of them waiting their turn to go under the gun.
The last pics are of them right before they get boxed up and sent on their way.....its Show Time !

Here's a question for our viewers........

How many different paint patterns are in photo two ??

The answer will be forthcoming next year.
You can post you answers in the comment section of this post.

Happy New Year !!!!!!!

Colors...Some Old.... Some New

A mix of colors that were commissioned by a couple friends. Some are colors that I've posted in the past but there is a couple new ones too. The new patterns were painted to match some photos that the fellow sent me. Matching colors and patterns from a photo is sometimes very difficult to do but is very satisfying when they turn out good.
In the photos of the Big Boys, the first one is a Char pattern, next in line is one I call Atomic Perch. The third one down is a Brown Trout color and the bottom one is a black, yellow and gold perch.
In the photo of the Big Paddletails, the one in the top left is a natural Yellow Perch color, below that is a fluorescent perch pattern that is referred to in some Nordic countries as Black Squares. The one in the top right is a Cisco and the lower right is a orange belly (Hot) Bluegill. At the bottom of the pic is a 3/0 custom tail that was painted to match a Firetiger Hellhound.

Color and Pattern Experimernts

While doing some painting this weekend I did a little experimenting with some new patterns and colors on some Big Boy bodies I had.
The top one in the first two pics is a variation of one of my bluegill patterns, I may call this one Chartreuse Bluegill.
The next one is a yellow, brown and black perch pattern with some metallic green highlights. Golden Perch may become it's name.
The bottom one uses the standard Firetiger colors but in a different pattern. Names for this one may be Commando....or possibly Fluorescent Camo.
In the bottom photo are 2 Widetail bodies.
The first one is a 2 tone chartreuse with orange and copper. Not really sure what to call this one but it looks similar to the Miller Perch color by Bucher Tackle.
The last one is a chartreuse and black checker board pattern, it's hard to really see the colors in this photo. This one too is still un-named.

Something New ????

Here's the first released photo of a new jerkbait design I've been working on lately. Each color has been weighted differently for testing purposes. Depending on how the testing goes, I may have some of these available for early spring.....but then again maybe not.
Length is 14 inches
Weight is from 4-1/2 to 5 ounces
Hooks, 1- 7/0, 1-3/0 and 1-2/0

Long Time....No Post !!!

It has been a long time since I've posted anything because due to other commitments I've not had much time to work on any baits for the past month or so but here's a pic of 5 that I did manage to get finished for a friend.
There's a 10" minnow bait, a Slammer I think, a Shallow Invader and magnum Bulldawg all in the Dr. Carp color. A Mag Dawg in a Perch flavor and a Hellhound in an Orange Barred Sucker. Below the Hellhound is a custom color matched tail for it.
Hopefully after we get through the holiday season I'll be able to get some more time to work on baits.

Some Different Types of Paddletails

Four colors of my 9" Split Belly Swimbaits,..... Brown Perch, Custom Roach, Brass Sucker and Orange Lace with Copper Scales
The last pic has a Deep 8" Paddletail in a Brass Sucker color, an 8" Shallow Paddletail in Brown Perch and 2 9" Shad bodies, one in a Perch flavor and one in Chartreuse Pikie.
While all of these baits are of the Paddletail design, each one has a slightly different action and best suits a certain set of conditions.
The split bellies are to be rigged weedless. This rigging allows them to be fished in, around and through heavy cover such as weeds, rocks and wood.
The Deep Paddletail is best suited when fishing deep water and or when a faster retrieve speed is needed to trigger a bite.
The Shallow Paddle is best suited for a surface presentation and/or when a very slow retrieve speed is needed.
The 9" shad body can be rigged on a large jig of different weights and can be fished at about any level in the water column. One of my favorite ways to use these large shad bodies is to rig them behind a pair of mag. 8 or mag 10 blades.

Three More.

Three more colors of swimbaits.
Pics 1 & 2 are of a new variation of a orange tail Firetiger.
Pics 3 & 4 are Chartreuse Pikie
The last 2 pics are Perch. This pattern is a little different than my usual Perch pattern. I think this one looks a little more natural.

Hope you all like'em !!

Thanks for stopping by for a look.

A Couple More Flavors

Here's two more colors in several styles of swimbaits.
The first 2 photos are of the color Brass Sucker and the last 2 are of a new custom pattern. It is orange and black lace pattern with copper scales. The one changes it's look depending on the angle that you look at the bait, from one angle you see all the copper scales and as the viewing angle changes the scales disappear and all you see is the orange and black pattern.

T-Shirts

Due to a lot of requests I've decided to have some shirts made. Here's a photo of one of the first few I got. If any of my blog readers would like a T-shirt, they can be purchased by sending me an email. These are a very high quality shirt that is made from a material called Ultra Cotton, it's a pre shrunk material . The logo is embroidered in red thread on the left chest. In the email please include the size you want. The cost is $20.00 each plus shipping. I'm working on getting the pricing for some sweat shirts and possibly some hats also. When I get the cost information I'll post it.
